Thomas Musgrove

Musgrove

also: T. Musgrove, Mr Musgrove, Tom

Henrietta's suitor, whose florid love-letter opens Letter the Fifth; his first name surfaces only when Lady Scudamore addresses him as 'Tom' in her recounted anecdote. Austen later gives 'Musgrove' to an entire family in Persuasion, including a Henrietta Musgrove.
