Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk

Grandson of the 3rd Duke, executed in 1572 for plotting to marry Mary Queen of Scots — 'so warm in the Queen of Scotland's cause... he at last fell a victim to it,' and later called her 'only freind.'
